As the Chief Financial Officer of Ora, Mark oversees the company’s Finance, Treasury, and Information Technology functions.
Mark is a Finance executive with over 30 years of experience in both public and private companies, with nearly two decades of expertise creating sustainable growth strategies for businesses in the healthcare and research fields. Having served as our SVP and CFO from 2017 – 2019, Mark is returning to Ora resuming his leading role implementing excellent, high-performing operational procedures that smoothly advance complex business objectives.
Before joining Ora, Mark held leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies and managed large, cross-functional teams in the life sciences industry. He was the CFO of Veristat where he was responsible for leading their Finance, Information Technology, and Quality Assurance activities. Previously, Mark spent 9 years at ThermoFisher Scientific serving as VP, Finance of its Global IT, Operational Strategy, and clinical trial businesses. Earlier in his career Mark held several positions in finance for Unilever’s Canadian and U.S. divisions including Commercial Director for the North American Foods business, and Controller at Good Humor – Breyers in Canada.
Mark earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree from Queen’s University in Canada, and is a Canadian Chartered Accountant/Certified Professional Accountant (CA/CPA).
