Sally Tucker, an optometrist with a PhD in ophthalmology, has more than 20 years’ experience within the ophthalmology industry. She has held positions in marketing, training and education, and clinical for global pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

As Ora’s Vice President of Ora Europe, Sally leads the focus on building a high-quality, expert, and efficient clinical operations team within Europe. She brings her dedication to quality assured outcomes, clinical excellence and accreditation, sound process development, regulatory compliance, and project excellence to growing and expanding Ora’s presence within the EU.

Sally’s expertise includes all phases of clinical research activities – from first-in-human, Food and Drug Administration investigational device studies, and investigational new drug/medicinal product trials, to numerous post-marketing evaluations. She is also seasoned in developing relationships with international key opinion leaders. She has directed and financially managed both international medical device and pharmaceutical trials, with a primary focus on Europe.

Most recently, as Senior Director of Clinical Research for Glaukos, Sally led the European clinical research team, establishing processes and procedures while overseeing operations and strategy. She is also the Founder & Director of SJT Focus, where she created and managed the business startup, working with global Top 30 pharma companies, as well as small and midsized CRO and medical device organizations.

Prior leadership positions include Surgical Medical Affairs Manager, Refractive Training Manager, and Cataract Refractive Product & Field Support Manager at Alcon; Optometric Supervisor, Clinical Demonstrator, and Student Tutor at Aston University in the UK; and optometric positions in the UK. She has also provided input to international standards committees relating to intraocular lens (IOLs) and has been a member of the Local Optical Committee board.

Sally earned a Doctor of Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science with honors in Optometry from Aston University. She is a Member of the British College of Optometrists and holds Post-Graduate Diplomas in Management and Additional & Supplementary Supply Therapeutics.
