Stuart Abelson

Stuart Abelson serves on Ora’s Board of Directors. He previously served as President, Chairman, and CEO, guiding the organization through significant global expansion while keeping Ora 100% dedicated to ophthalmology. Under his leadership, Ora became the partner of choice for ophthalmology development programs, and his focus today remains on elevating every aspect of product development, so Ora stays a source of hope for customers, partners, and patients worldwide. The son of Ora’s founder, Stuart spent a decade at Fortune 500 company Amphenol Corporation before joining Ora as President in 2007. He first joined Ora’s Board in 1995 and later served as Chair. He remains active on numerous corporate and non-profit boards and is a dedicated philanthropist, supporting education, wildlife and land conservation, medical research, veteran causes, and homelessness initiatives. Stuart graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Bates College, earning multiple recognitions for scholarship and service. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
